MacEwan University’s Integrated Strategic Plan (2014-2019) is guiding important academic change and as part of that process, on July 2, 2016, the new Faculty of Nursing will be established. With both Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing programs, the Founding Dean will have the opportunity to chart a new and exciting course of academic program development, teaching and learning innovation, research success, and community engagement.
MacEwan University is seeking an experienced, collaborative and visionary nursing leader and educator to lead the newly established Faculty of Nursing. The Dean is an integral member of the senior university leadership team and will be expected to provide dynamic, strategic and visionary academic leadership by promoting excellence and integrity.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, a successful record of achievement in university teaching and scholarship in nursing, a track record of successful program coordination and supervisory experience, and will be eligible for registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Experience with working in Collaborative Nursing Programs, inter-professional education and/or Aboriginal health would be a distinct asset.
Consideration of candidates will begin in March 2016 and will continue until the position is filled. Candidates are sought for a continuing academic appointment to begin as early as July 2016 or at a mutually agreed upon date.
