Working under the supervision of the Executive Director of Development, the Manager of Finance & Administration is responsible for overseeing performance management processes and reports for the Alumni and Development Department. The Manager of Finance & Administration conducts strategic planning, business planning, ensures that key performance indicators are in place, and provides financial support, including budget management and provides analysis and advice to the Executive Director.

• Member in good standing with professional organizations/associations such as the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate and communicate financial information
• Superb time management and self-management skills
• Proactive, initiates analysis, innovative problem solving, able to gather, organize, and analyze data and make recommendations
• Proven ability to think strategically and tactically in an ambiguous, dynamic and demanding day-to-day environment, subject to emergent issues and shifting priorities
• Knowledge of FOIP and CRA regulations is required
• Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is an asset
• Excellent spreadsheet and database skills
• Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team oriented environment

• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Operations Analysis, or Finance, supported by additional training in Human Resources, or Operations Management is preferred
• Professional Accounting designation required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance, or an analytical role with an emphasis on decision support and performance management.
• Experience in fundraising and working in a post-secondary environment an asset
• Ability to understand financial modelling and systems, as well as customer relationship management systems
