Opportunity
The Accounts Receivable department at MacEwan University is recruiting for an accounting technician II – refunds & sponsorships. This position is mainly accountable for ensuring that student refunds, sponsorships, awards, scholarships and bursaries are accurately processed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will take pride in the responsibility of being a point of contact when it comes to accounts receivable inquiries mostly pertaining to refunds and sponsorships. The incumbent will also liaise with various internal departments to perform their tasks and develop cohesive relationships with those they interact with.

Skills
Applicants should possess strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills and be detail oriented. The incumbent will possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written as well as have a strong customer service background. The successful incumbent will be a highly motivated, self-directed individual and deal diplomatically with issues/concerns/confidentiality as they arise. Strong work experience with use of Microsoft Office applications is preferred; working knowledge of PeopleSoft applications is an asset.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a post-secondary diploma in accounting or related discipline, along with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a mid to large size computerized accounting environment preferably in Accounts Receivable. Related work experience equivalencies will also be considered. Experience in other accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, in addition to Accounts Receivable, is an asset.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association collective agreement.
