Administrative Assistant to the Dean
School of Business
The School of Business at City Centre Campus is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Dean. Responsibilities include: scheduling appointments, meetings and event details; preparing correspondence, including complex written documents; establishing and maintaining a records management system; developing and maintaining extensive knowledge of the various programs and departments within the School, including knowledge of the universities policies and procedures; and liaising with other staff, departments, students, and the external community for the Dean.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a two-year diploma preferably in office administration, along with three years of related experience preferably in a post-secondary environment. Equivalencies will be considered. Advanced training in Microsoft applications and computer management software are essential to be successful in this role. This role requires candidates to have a flexible schedule to attend meetings early in the morning and/or late at night.
The incumbent should have a minimum of the following attributes: positive interpersonal skills; strong organizational and time management skills; good writing and proof reading skills; ability to prioritize tasks; high level of professionalism, tact, discretion, and judgment working with sensitive and confidential matters; a collaborative approach to working in a team environment; and the ability to manage changing priorities in a dynamic office environment.
This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
