Opened in September 2005, the MacEwan Residence is located at the City Center Campus and houses nearly 900 students in a variety of bachelor, 2 bedroom and 4 bedroom suite-style units. Our goal is to provide a safe, secure and affordable housing option to students that supports their learning, development and personal growth.

The Department of Residence Services is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to fill the role of housing coordinator. Reporting to the Director, Residence Services, the Housing Coordinator will manage housing inventory and all aspects of the student assignments/admissions processes; facilitate all check in and check out processes; supervise two-full time staff; oversee the front desk operations and supervising day to day student and client relations. The main duties of this position include communicating with prospective and current residents about processes with room assignments; liaising with Facilities Services staff to ensure delivery of service to residents, responding to customer, university and departmental inquiries and establishing and implementing workflow procedures.

The successful incumbent will have excellent communication skills, good organizational and prioritization skills as well as exemplary customer service skills. Applicants must also have the ability to work independently; complete work in an accurate and thorough manner while paying attention to detail; maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a professional, service oriented and tactful manner. The successful incumbent will also possess demonstrated supervisory skills; ability to effectively delegate work and the ability to solve problems.

Interested applicants should have a post-secondary degree in Business, Management, Student Affairs or Humanities as well as a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a customer services related position. Equivalencies will be considered. Applicants must also have a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience. Previous experience working in Student Affairs, particularly in a university or college housing environment is preferred. Applicants also need to have working knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Access and Excel. Working Knowledge of StarRez is an asset.

Position Requirements
The successful applicant will be a team player who can work flexible and varied hours. Occasional weekends will be required three (3) to four (4) times a year.
