Senior Development Officer
Established in 1971, MacEwan University serves over 19,000 credit students in Bachelor degrees, University Transfer programs, Applied Bachelor degrees and diploma and certificate programs.
Reporting to the Director, Fund Development, the Senior Development Officer is responsible for establishing strong philanthropic relationships with prospects and donors and soliciting gifts on behalf of the University. You will develop appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies for prospects, and ensure their implementation by working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders and volunteers.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a post-secondary degree along with a minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in major or planned gift fundraising. Equivalencies will be considered. The successful candidate will be a member in good standing with a professional organization/association such as the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, Association of Fundraising Professionals or Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education. You will have a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies for major gift solicitations.
You have a “winning” attitude and a proven record of accomplishment of identifying, developing, and stewarding relationships with donors and sponsors, and the ability to build strong and long-term partnerships. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential for this role.
