MacEwan University’s Library has an opportunity for a circulation assistant to provide borrower services at the City Centre Campus. This is a front line position with responsibility for a wide variety of circulation activities including checking materials in and out, issuing photo Identification cards, and sorting and shelving collection materials. The successful candidate in this position must be prepared to answer a wide variety of basic library-related questions and to provide students, faculty and members of the public with directional assistance.

Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a strong customer service orientation; and the ability to conduct job duties with professionalism and courtesy. Applicants should be flexible, comfortable working in a team environment, and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
Applicants will need to have a minimum of a high school diploma and a minimum of one (1) years’ experience working in a library setting.

Position Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekend hours.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association collective agreement.
