Are you a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a passion for nursing? Ignite this passion in psychiatric nursing students by promoting their learning in a psychiatric/mental health practice setting.
Applications are invited from Registered Psychiatric Nurses for a Nurse Educator position with the Psychiatric Nursing diploma program at the program’s Edmonton campus. The Psychiatric Nursing program is a dynamic two and one half year program, delivered at locations in both Edmonton and Ponoka and admitting 75 students per year. Program graduates may also further their studies in this field through the university’s new post-diploma Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing.
Candidates must have a baccalaureate degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or Nursing and at least three years of current nursing practice within psychiatric/mental health settings. The successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal and health assessment skills, a good knowledge base, and enthusiasm for teaching. Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta is required. Previous teaching experience would be an asset.
The nurse educator position is full-time over 9 months with a comprehensive 12 month benefits package
