Administrative Support III, Psychology Department

MacEwan University is seeking an enthusiastic and customer service oriented individual to join the administrative support team in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

The incumbent will work closely with the Chair and faculty assisting them with tasks such as course outlines, exams, and textbook ordering. The incumbent will also assign office space for sessional instructors, order office supplies, maintain office equipment, order keys, update department staff lists, communicate information about final exam dates/times/location to faculty, and ensure course folders at the end of each term are submitted. The incumbent will also be responsible for answering inquiries from current and prospective students thus will need to be not only knowledgeable about the department, but also of services the University offers to students.

In this busy, dynamic, and changing work environment, the incumbent should demonstrate a thorough understanding of continuous improvement. Strong detail-oriented, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills are required for this position. The successful candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate must be service-oriented to respond quickly and effectively to multiple requests. In addition, you will demonstrate the initiative to set priorities to meet departmental needs under limited supervision and be able to work in a team setting.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an office administration diploma (two years), along with a minimum of two years’ work experience, ideally in a post-secondary setting. Equivalencies will be considered. Candidates must have advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PeopleSoft experience would be considered an asset.
