Scheduling and Student System Specialist

MacEwan University is recruiting for a Scheduling and Student System Specialist, a newly established position in the Office of the University Registrar.

This position combines both data entry and customer service to respond to various issues within the Information Systems and Scheduling unit.

The incumbent is responsible for course, exam and casual room booking assignments, and scheduling class sections; prepare and confirm casual booking requests in the EnCampus Enterprise portal and online booking system; input, activate and maintain course section data record files in PeopleSoft. Other responsibilities include troubleshoot/redirect system issues that have been assigned a service ticket in the University’s eHelp system such as, student and faculty security and access issues; determine if issues can be resolved immediately or escalated to the supervisor; and user acceptance testing approved security assignment within the student information system.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of a post-secondary diploma in computers or management studies, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with student information systems and database. Equivalencies may be considered. Applicants must be highly functional and literate in the PC environment including Microsoft Office applications and database management.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to problem solve, prioritize, multi-tasks and have well demonstrated communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a team setting, as well as independently. This position has tight deadlines and will require the successful candidate to process a high volume of work. Excellent interpersonal skill is essential.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
