Faculty School Advisor
School of Business
The Bachelor of Commerce program at City Centre Campus invites applications for a Faculty School Advisor supporting a diverse portfolio of majors within the program. This is a full-time limited-term (15 months maternity leave coverage) position in the School of Business. The successful candidate will work with a team providing services to students in an environment which includes a four-year baccalaureate program.
Program advising responsibilities include advising students both individually and in large groups, developing students’ academic and graduation plans, providing accurate information regarding degree and career options, interpreting university policies and procedures as they relate to students, and working collaboratively with other advisors. Duties also include student recruiting, student registration assistance, advising materials development, career search support, developing student success strategies and other related duties.
Applicants will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with a preference given to those in Business or Commerce. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Candidates must possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be attentive to detail, be flexible and have the ability to present to large groups. Post-secondary academic and career advising experience is preferred.
