The Department of Physical Sciences at MacEwan University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Earth and Planetary Science with expertise in stratigraphy, sedimentology, earth systems, or environmental science. Strengths in field teaching and field course organization are also desired. The appointment will commence July 1, 2014, subject to final budgetary approval.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or a solid indication of imminent completion of a Ph.D.) in Geology, Earth System Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. They will be expected to deliver rigorous undergraduate courses that incorporate interdisciplinary Physical Science themes (e.g. Analytical Tools & Techniques; The Cosmos; Energy & Resource; Environmental Change Past, Present, & Future; The Physical Basis of Life) and are informed by an ambitious research program. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English.

This position is included under the Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
