Sessional Nursing Faculty
Faculty of Health & Community Studies (Mental Health/Psychiatric)
The Faculty of Health and Community Studies at MacEwan University is seeking sessional (part-time) faculty members for the Psychiatric Nursing Program at the two program sites: the university’s City Centre Campus in Edmonton, and the Dave Russell Education Complex in Ponoka. Teaching opportunities for the winter and spring terms primarily involve one or more 5-week full-time clinical courses that focus on care of adults in psychiatric/mental health settings. Clinical teaching opportunities in Year One may also exist within Foundations in Nursing Practice, scheduled on Mondays within the winter term, or in a concentrated bi-weekly practice experience in May scheduled in conjunction with Mental Health Nursing I.
Candidates should hold a baccalaureate degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Mental Health or Nursing. Strong interpersonal and health assessment skills, proficiency in nursing practice within psychiatric/mental health settings, an enthusiasm for nursing education and practice, and licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta are required. Selection of candidates will be based on a combination of education and experience.
