Sessional Faculty Appointments

Applications are invited for sessional nursing faculty appointments within MacEwan University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program. The MacEwan University BScN program emphasizes development of a strong knowledge base, attainment of a repertoire of diverse nursing practice skills and demonstration of professional attributes. The BScN program is designed to integrate and sequence nursing knowledge, concepts and theories for individuals, families, groups, populations and communities within diverse health and illness experiences. We are currently seeking sessional candidates with recent nursing and teaching practice experience for a variety of clinical opportunities.

Sessional nursing faculty are accountable for clinical and/or lab instruction of BScN students. The current need in the BScN program is for sessional faculty to teach clinical courses. Requirements include a baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of 2 years of registered nursing practice. Candidates should possess strong practice knowledge and skills; a commitment to the profession of registered nursing; interest in ongoing professional development; and enthusiasm and skill for teaching undergraduate nursing students. Active licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) is required.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, including a short description of registered nursing practice and teaching experience.

Sessional appointments are for a fixed period of time.

This position is included under the Faculty Association Collective Agreement which is available on the MacEwan University website.
