The Department of Anthropology, Economics and Political Science is seeking a sessional instructor to teach ANTH 340 Canadian Aboriginal Issues in winter 2016. This is a third year undergraduate course. This course employs an anthropological approach to analyze contemporary Canadian Aboriginal issues. Cultural theories for the analysis of patterns, processes and trends are examined. Specific topics include First Nations and Canadian politics, economics, education, religion, health, law and arts. This course is scheduled on Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
A completed or near complete PhD is desirable. Previous experience in teaching related courses at university level and/or experiences in dealing with aboriginal issues will be preferable.
