Recreation Consultant
Sport and Wellness

MacEwan University’s Recreation team, located at City Centre Campus, has an opportunity for an enthusiastic, outgoing, and sporty individual with a passion for providing fun and engaging programming for students.

Reporting to the Recreation Supervisor, the incumbent will develop, coordinate, promote, implement and evaluate intramural leagues, tournaments, sport clubs, and special events. The ideal candidate will assist with the day to day operation of the recreation department; recruit, train, and monitor intramural staff and volunteers; update program policies, procedures, staff orientation and training manuals; monitor and update the recreation website; and develop promotional materials.

We are looking for our successful candidate to have a minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, or a related field, along with experience in program planning and coordination. Equivalencies may be considered. A working knowledge of CLASS and the Microsoft Office suite is required.

Our ideal candidate must have strong leadership, written and interpersonal skills; knowledge of a wide variety of recreation and sport programs; able to work with minimum supervision; along with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Upon hire into this position, the successful candidate will need to provide proof of a valid Alberta Driver’s License, First Aid, CPR, AED, O2 Administration, and WHMIS certification.

The successful candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
