Administrative Support III
Humanities Department, Faculty of Arts and Science
The Faculty of Arts and Science has a 13 month maternity leave coverage opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer service oriented individual to join the administrative support team.
The incumbent will work closely with the Chair and faculty assisting them with tasks such as course outlines, exams, and textbook ordering. The incumbent will also assign office space for sessional instructors; order office supplies; maintain office equipment; order keys; update department staff lists; communicate information about final exam dates/times/location to faculty; and ensure course folders at the end of each term are submitted. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the department and services offered to answer inquiries from current and prospective students.
In this busy work environment, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a thorough understanding of continuous improvement; good verbal and written communication skills; strong detail-oriented, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the initiative to set priorities to meet departmental needs under limited supervision and be able to work in a team setting.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of an office administration diploma (two years) and a minimum of two years’ experience, ideally in a post-secondary setting. Equivalencies will be considered. Advanced experience in Word, Excel, and PeopleSoft are assets.
This position is included under the MacEwan Staff & Association Collective Agreement.
