Educational Assistant I
Services to Students with Disabilities

The Department of Services to Students with Disabilities is seeking an Educational Assistant to fill an eight month Recurring Term position (September – April). The Educational Assistant is responsible for providing assistive services and facilitating the academic accommodations necessary to achieve the goal of full participation for each student with a disability attending the university. Specific responsibilities include facilitating and proctoring exam accommodations, providing students with one to one assistance both in and out of class, and preparing print materials in alternate formats including e-text, enlargement, tactile drawings, audio-video transcription.

We are looking for applicants with the following experience, skills and qualities:
• Educational Assistant certificate (minimum) and/or equivalent education and experience
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Experience in post-secondary education including university-level note taking
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Competence in using technology and aptitude to learn how to use assistive technology
• Flexibility as hours of work will vary and may be required to work at multiple campuses

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
