Opportunity
The Office of the University Registrar has an exciting opportunity for two Financial Aid and Prospective Student Advisors! Our team is looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and have a passion to work with students from various cultural backgrounds.

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Records and Registration, staff work with policies and procedures to advise prospective and current students on financial aid options for funding their post-secondary education, such as, applying, cashing, appealing, maintaining interest free status, repaying and applying for interest relief. This position will also assist individuals who are new to post-secondary to explore educational options based on their background, aspiration, and life circumstances by providing guidance for program and course selection; financial aid options and admission requirements; and assist students with open studies. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time with students in person, either in one-on-one meetings or in a front reception style setting.

This position has a dual role between financial aid advising and prospective student advising, and offers a rewarding career working with students. The successful candidates must demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning.

Skills
We are looking for candidates with strong verbal and written communication skills; able to remain professional under difficult situations with students; able to critically think, listen, research and solve problems.

Qualifications
The successful candidates must have a minimum of a post-secondary degree along with a minimum of two (2) years experience working in customer service. Equivalencies may be considered. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required while PeopleSoft and post-secondary experiences would be assets.
