Accounting Technician II

The Accounts Payable department at MacEwan University has an opportunity for an Accounting Technician II. The incumbent is responsible for verifying and accurately entering vouchers against purchase orders and processing miscellaneous invoices according to supporting documentation. Responsibilities also include the investigation and resolution of payment inquiries, as well as account reconciliations and other ad-hoc tasks assigned. The successful candidate will provide a high level of customer service and is committed to continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, investigative, organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will also have strong experience in completing account reconciliations, financial analysis and have an intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Excel.
Applicants must have a minimum of an Accounting diploma or business related discipline with an accounting focus, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a mid to large size computerized accounting environment. Equivalencies will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in PeopleSoft applications specifically to the Accounts Payable module.
This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
