Administrative Assistant III

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications (FFAC) at MacEwan University has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant III. This position is located at the Centre for the Arts and Communications Campus.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications, this position will provide administrative support, primarily to the Design Studies and Fine Art programs. Responsibilities include word processing, data entry, and proofreading; creating reports using PeopleSoft to support decision-making; preparing and updating program materials; scheduling meetings, and taking and transcribing minutes; and maintaining mailing lists. The incumbent may need to take on the role of an emergency warden.
In this busy and changing work environment, the successful candidate must be enthusiastic, and customer service-oriented, with excellent administrative and organization skills. The incumbent must be able to work independently with limited supervision, and respond quickly and effectively to multiple demands. Demonstrated attention to detail, the ability to solve problems, and above-average verbal and written communication skills will allow the candidate to be successful in this position.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a post-secondary diploma (two years), along with a minimum of two years of related work experience. Equivalencies will be considered. The successful candidate will have intermediate experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with PeopleSoft would be an asset.
Upon hire, the successful candidate will be required to complete Emergency First Aid and CPR if he or she does not have a current certificate.
This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
