The Centre for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFÉ), a very active, client-focussed centre serving faculty members across the university and beyond, has an opportunity for a full-time continuing Administrative and Communications Assistant. CAFÉ comprises a number of diverse portfolios: Faculty Development, Faculty Evaluation, Curriculum, Academic Technology and Research, and collaborates extensively with other units across campus. The position works very closely with the Faculty Development Administrator.

The incumbent will be accountable for contributing to CAFÉ's success by providing efficient administrative and communications support to the Executive Director and the entire CAFÉ team, as well as customer service to faculty and staff. This position will also provide administrative services such as: calendar management; development and maintenance of office systems; website maintenance; event promotion and logistics; and general office administration.

The incumbent should be highly motivated and resourceful and able to function individually and as part of a dynamic team, including the ability to demonstrate the following:

• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
• Ability to cope with high volume of phone and in-person inquiries
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and prioritize workload
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
• Strong organizational skills

Candidates should have a 2 year Diploma in Office Administration or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years office experience. Knowledge of the post-secondary system is an asset.
