The Facilities Division at MacEwan University is the largest service department. Facilities designs, maintains and operates our campuses and grounds, ensuring that they are secure, clean, functional, sustainable, and inspiring.

We have opportunities for three (3) custodian positions for all shifts to assist in providing a clean and safe environment for staff and students. In this position, the incumbent will clean and maintain floors; clean washrooms; wash windows; dust and sanitize furniture/equipment; and change lights, as required.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of six months related experience and be able to operate basic custodial equipment including polisher, automatic scrubber, floor steam cleaner, and vacuum. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work safely with chemicals. WHMIS training is preferred, although training could be provided to the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate must be able to understand and communicate in English, and must be physically fit.

A generous total compensation package will be included in these positions: Extended Health and Dental benefits, sick accrual, 15 days of vacation to start, and 14 statutory holidays. Additional benefits include access to university learning, library card, ETS@ work discount bus pass, and the university is closed over the Christmas break.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
