The School of Continuing Education is seeking a full time term (6 months) Program Assistant to join its team at the Alberta College Campus.

The Program Assistant is responsible for contributing to the success and smooth operation within the University Preparation Department. The Program Assistant is often the initial contact with prospective and returning students, and therefore, must be knowledgeable about University and program policies.

The main duties of the Program Assistant are student and administrative support as outlined below:
• Information, registration and student support including responding to inquiries about programs, admission requirements, and registration procedures; collecting fees and registering students for courses;
• Administrative support to the department including: reception; preparation of reports; assist with the development of course schedules, room bookings etc; preparation of correspondence; assisting faculty as needed with course materials; maintaining records; and, assisting in the development and distribution of marketing/program information.

To be successful in this role, the candidate should be a problem-solver who is self-motivated, highly organized and able to adapt in a fast-paced changing environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products are required.

A diploma in business administration and two years’ experience preferably in a post-secondary setting is preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft is an asset.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association collective agreement.
