Administrative Assistant to the Dean
School of Business

The School of Business at the City Centre Campus has a 15 months maternity leave coverage opportunity for an Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Dean, School of Business the Administrative Assistant is accountable scheduling appointments, meetings and event details; preparing correspondences, including complex written documents; establishing and maintaining a records management system; developing and maintaining extensive knowledge of the various programs and departments within the School, including knowledge of the universities policies and procedures; and liaising with other staff, departments, students, and the external community for the Dean.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a post-secondary diploma (2 years) in office or business administration, along with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, preferably supporting senior administrators. Equivalencies will be considered. Advanced training in Microsoft applications and computer management software are required.

Our ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal skills; strong organizational and time management skills; good writing and proof reading skills; be able to prioritize tasks; high level of professionalism, tact, discretion, and judgment working with sensitive and confidential matters; a collaborative approach to working in a team environment; and be able to manage changing priorities in a dynamic office environment. This position requires the successful candidate to work under minimum supervision.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexible schedule to attend meetings early in the morning and/or in the evening.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
