Extended Health Care – Administered by Alberta Blue Cross, our extended health care plan provides additional health coverage to you and your eligible dependants for things such as prescription drugs, medical devices and out of province emergency medical situations. Health Spending Account (H.S.A.) – Also provided by Alberta Blue Cross, Health Spending Accounts have become important components of good employer’s benefits programs. Funded by MacEwan and governed by Canada Revenue Agency, this tax-effective account provides our employees and their eligible dependants the opportunity to use accrued credits to pay for a wide range of eligible health related expenses. Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) - Provided by Manulife and administered by Human Solutions, this service provides employees with confidential and professional assistance to help employees and their families to resolve a variety of lifestyle problems or challenges. MacEwan Sport and Wellness - Interested in learning to swim or participating in an exercise class? MacEwan employees receive a membership discount at the Centre for Sport and Wellness. You will have access to our fitness area, pool, steams rooms and 40-person hot tub, our gymnasium and squash/racquetball courts!

Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) - An integral part of any total compensation package, a pension plan is one of the most valuable assets that an employer can provide its employees.
MacEwan offers the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) to all eligible employees. A defined benefit plan, based on both employee and employer contributions, your pension at retirement is a based upon a formula that includes your length of pensionable service and your highest five-year average pensionable salary.
Short Term Disability – Provided by Manulife. When an employee is unable to attend work due to a medically supported non-occupational illness or injury, they can take comfort in knowing that they can apply to this non-taxable income and benefit supplement program. Basic Life Insurance - Provided by Manulife, with premiums fully funded by MacEwan, this life insurance policy provides a measure of financial security with a lump sum payment to your designated beneficiary in the event of your death.
