Our Spaces

kihêw waciston is a friendly and welcoming place to connect with other students, to share your stories about home and to learn about the services and resources available to you.

Drop by for some tea or to cook in our kitchen. Find a quiet space to study or use the computers. Visit the elders. We look forward to having you gather, meet and grow at MacEwan University.

Knowing I have a place on campus to turn to when I’m having a tough time, whether it’s to light some sage and reset or be surrounded by supportive people, has really helped me.”

Territorial statement

MacEwan University respectfully acknowledges that the land on which we gather in Treaty Six Territory is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit who call this territory home. The first people's connection to the land teaches us about our inherent responsibility to protect and respect Mother Earth. With this land acknowledgment, we honour the ancestors and children who have been buried here, the missing and murdered Indigenous women and men and the ongoing collective healing for all human beings. We are reminded we are all treaty people and the responsibility we have to one another.
