Rob Aldridge ia a Double Bassist with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. He holds a Masters' degree in Performance from Yale University and a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University. He also earned a jazz diploma from Grant MacEwan College.

Prior to winning his job with the ESO, Rob was an assistant professor of Double Bass at the University of Ottawa. He is alumni of the National Youth Orchestra, National Academy Orchestra as well as playing for festivals in Banff, Domain Forget and Seattle. He has performed with various groups in Canada, the U.S.A, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Rob has studied under some of the great doble bass players and pedagogues the world has to offer and loves to share his knowledge with his students.

 Tristan Cameron has been teaching at the Alberta College Conservatory of Music since 2004. Prior to teaching at the Conservatory, Tristan taught at the Turner Guitar Studio and his home studio. His studio welcomes students as young as five, and he enjoys working with students of all ages, levels, and styles.

Tristan’s passion for music began at an early age when he began taking lessons at age seven. His passion led him to pursue, and complete Grant MacEwan’s Diploma of Music in composition and the University of Alberta’s Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Composition.

Tristan has received formal training on electric, acoustic, and classical guitars and is intimately knowledgeable of the various techniques used on each. He enjoys teaching a diverse collection of styles and genres including jazz, blues, folk, rock (indie, classic, pop), classical and country. In addition to teaching a variety of styles, he is also proficient in the use of music technology, ear training, and contemporary musical theory.

Bachelor of Music – McGill University

Andrew Creaghan has been teaching at the Conservatory since 1978. He uses his own method book “The True Art of Playing the Guitar,” in his classes and covers the basic repertory for the guitar from the first printed works of the Renaissance in the 1490's up to the Modern Age. Andrew is a graduate of McGill University where he studied both guitar and composition, and did graduate work at the Royal Academy of Music in London UK.

Andrew is an award winning composer, performer, teacher and writer, whose recordings have received international acclaim, and has performed concerts nationally and internationally. His compositions have been commissioned, performed and recorded around the world, and encompass symphonies, solo and chamber works, choral music and film scores. In 1996, he was named an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre and is also a member of the Canadian League of Composers.

William Charles Damur, BMus, BEd, MMus

Bill Damur studied in the U.K. with Wilfred Smith, Christopher Taylor, Adrian Brett, and in Edmonton with Alan Clarke and Harlan Green to attain the first Masters Degree granted in Flute Performance at the University of Alberta. While there, he received the Sklove Award for chamber music and the Eva Shaw Prize for the Most Outstanding Student in any year of study. He has taught flute, guitar, theory, composition and ensemble coaching at Alberta College Conservatory of Music since 1983. He has performed with the Plumbers' Union Recorder Consort, members of the E.S.O, Edmonton Wind Symphonia, Griffin Concert, Café Musique, Baffin Island Party, Chanticleer, Amati Trio, Möbius, B.E.A.M.S., Baroque Resurection Groups and other music embracing its earliest forms to the avant-garde. Bill has also written, arranged, performed and directed for all of them. He has shared the stage with Rod Stewart, The Birds and Iron Butterfly. Bill is also an ARIA Award Nominee, and in 2000 was nominated for a STERLING Award for his co-writing of the Post Punk Opera production of “The Illumination of Marshall McLuhan.”

His knowledge of the subject is scholarly. He is no stranger to the media, producing his own radio shows at C.J.S.R. from 1988-2000. Among his awards for music, Bill holds an award from the Edmonton Journal, the Golden Pen. Bill has finished music for films, is active in theatre, is well known as a composer/arranger, and clinician. He has taught in the public school system and enjoys his role as a festival adjudicator. He continues to tour and in 2002, Nunavut Tourism awarded Bill with the Order of Arctic Explorers (OAE) for his live music and educational services to the North. His music is recognized internationally and has been recorded on several CD releases, the latest of which was with Möbius in 2006 entitled “Served” from which his piece “Spy Story” was the featured single.

At Alberta College Conservatory of Music, Don Ehret teaches ‘contemporary’ guitar, which encompasses rock, blues, jazz, folk, country and everything in between. He emphasizes getting the most enjoyment out of learning, while helping students fully understand the instrument. His techniques include: reading music and tablature, basic to advanced chording, finger picking, improvisation in all styles, theory and ear training. Students are also encouraged to bring CDs or sheet music to the lesson. He welcomes students of all ages and levels of proficiency.

Don also teaches songwriting, composition and arranging in the rock, pop, blues and country genres as well as recording techniques using programs such as 'Garage Band'.

Don studied guitar at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and attended the Banff School of Fine Arts Jazz Program. His performances and recording span everything from ‘Pops’ concerts with Nana Mouskouri, Jim Nabors, Phyllis Diller and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, to shows with the Ice Capades, musicals at the Citadel Theatre, CBC Television and radio engagements, and the Edmonton Jazz City Festival.

In addition to his busy teaching schedule, Don performs with the Don Ehret/Greg Dust guitar/bass duo and writes for the upcoming animation series Múmú Ci.

Michel Forestier has been a classical guitar instructor at Alberta College Conservatory of Music since 1973. He is also a faculty member at the King’s University College in Edmonton. His students start as young as 5 years old and range from complete beginners to more senior students. Mr. Forestier encourages his students to play with other guitarists and musicians in duets or larger ensembles.

Michel began his classical guitar studies with Carl Lotsberg in Edmonton, and continued his studies during the summers at the Orford Arts Centre in Quebec and at the Shawnigan Summer School of the Arts in British Columbia. Mr. Forestier has performed as a soloist and in various chamber music ensembles on television and radio. In 1991 he began giving concerts with his wife, violinist Marie Forestier and remains active as a performer, arranger and chamber music coach.

Trevor Sanders began teaching guitar at MacEwan University's Alberta College Conservatory of Music in 2001. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta (MMus) and Augustana University College (BA specialized in Music). He's an active performer whose appearances as a chamber musician and a soloist have been heard on CBC Stereo.

Trevor accompanied the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers on their 2000 ARIA Award winning CD, Balulalow. He has also been involved with a number of guitar ensembles, and is a founding member of the University of Alberta guitar quartet and the Edmonton Guitar Trio. He has also performed as a soloist with the Alberta Baroque Orchestra. Trevor currently teaches guitar for MacEwan University's Alberta College Conservatory, and guitar and theory for the University of Alberta at its Augustana Campus.
