Dr. Robert Klakowich has held teaching positions at the University of Alberta, Duham University (UK) and the University of Auckland (New Zealand). Today, in addition to private instruction, Robert teaches the majority of theory classes for Alberta College Conservatory of Music.

As a musicologist, he has prepared editions of English harpsichord music published by A-R Editions and Musica Britannica, and has given papers and chaired sessions at national and international conferences. His interests in the performing arts extend from early music to musical theatre, but his real passion is teaching. His students range from beginners to advanced levels, including those satisfying Royal Conservatory of Music or Conservatory Canada theoretical requirements, university course preparation, or those wishing to study music theory for enjoyment.

A native Calgarian, Cameron Watson brings to Alberta College Conservatory of Music his broad view of music, refusing to limit his range of experiences to just “piano.” In addition to teaching and performing throughout Canada, he has recorded numerous solo programs for CBC; written music for theatre, film and dance; and performed both as pianist and narrator in interdisciplinary projects combining dance, visual art and poetry.

Cameron holds a bachelor of music with distinction in piano performance from the University of Calgary and a master of music in performance and composition from the University of Western Ontario. He has also studied at the University of British Columbia, The Banff School of Fine Arts, and in Switzerland under the Canada Council. Cameron’s key teachers include Boris Roubakine, Leonard Isaacs, William Aide, Jane Coop and the eminent Gyorgy Sebök as well as composers Luigi Zanninnelli and Dr. Gerhardt Wuensch. After studying filmmaking at New York University, he also translated his lifelong love of dance and music into a documentary entitled “Dancessence” produced by ACCESS Television.
