Don’t be another statistic. Learn basic swimming skills. Swim to Survive is FREE for all MacEwan students. Register at the Welcome Desk for October classes.

Volunteer for Swim to Survive

Volunteer with Sport and Wellness and help us teach our MacEwan students how to Swim to Survive!

Toonie Swims

Join us for our Toonie Recreational Swims for youth 17 and under. Also adults can drop-in during those times for $8 and older adults (55+) and MacEwan Employees for $6.

Female Only Swim

Day Dates Time Price
Female Only Swims Join our female lifeguards for our exclusive female only public swim. Appropriate swimwear must be worn (t-shirt and shorts are
acceptable). Drop-in fees apply if you don’t have a membership or pass. Windows will be covered for privacy.

At MacEwan University Sport and Wellness we offer free, value-added drop-in aquatic classes, Swimming lessons, registered Water Fitness Classes and leadership training courses like Canadian Swim Patrol and Junior Lifeguard Club.

Aquatics Professionals

  • All aquatic staff are certified as Swim for Life Instructors, National Lifeguard Certified and Aquatic Emergency Care. Additional certifications include O2 Therapy, Automated External Defibrilation and CPR instructors.All pool staff are trained as instructors, lifeguards and CPR instructors.

  • Several staff train people how to be lifeguards and swim instructors.

  • We attend monthly training in-services to learn new things and keep our skills sharp.
