Mandate
To review and co-ordinate additions, deletions, and revisions to the Faculty curriculum; to make recommendations about curriculum change to the Dean; review proposals for courses.
Evolution of the Committee
As the faculty expands and the degree program matures, the structures and processes associated with them will adjust. For example, more departments will emerge. In the case of the curriculum committee, its function would not change and nor would the requirement to have members whose perspective is program and faculty in scope. But a growth in size would enable the selection procedures to develop from a 'departmental' to and 'Arts Faculty' basis.
Consultation
The committee would seek input from the curriculum change and from others with expertise within and, when necessary, outside the Faculty. The committee would solicit input from others in the Faculty who may be affected by the curriculum change. When necessary, comment from other areas of the university will be canvassed - e.g. library staff.
