Business Planning and Administration
You can’t get where you’re going unless you have a plan. The Business Planning and Administration (BPA) department provides expertise in: business planning and analysis, project management, performance measures and communications. Facilitating the mid and long-term planning for the University Services division, BPA works on strategic and tactical planning involving business improvements, policy development, and change management.
Risk and Assurance Services
Good risk management is good business. MacEwan recognizes the importance of having an effective risk management and assurance program to keep staff and students safe while protecting the university. The Risk and Assurance Services (RAS) department is responsible for the:
- Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program including internal audit
- Emergency Planning and Response (EPR) program assists management to identify physical risks, like fire
- Business Process Management (BPM) reviews business process design for efficiencies and savings
Strategic Project Management Office
The Strategic Project Management Office provides support to project staff to apply project management standards and practices while establishing a framework to facilitate project governance and oversight.
Office of General Counsel
The mission of the Office of General Counsel is to provide knowledgeable, balanced and concise legal advice to MacEwan personnel and to represent, guide and enhance MacEwan’s legal position.
Financial Services
Financial Services advises and supports internal and external stakeholders to ensure the control and integrity of all university financial data and information. The vision of Financial Services is to provide financial leadership and accurate, current, financial information.
Budget & Resource Planning
This department supports senior administration through the coordination of the strategic and annual budget process. The Budget & Resource Planning department‘s mission is to provide timely and value-added advice on budgetary matters--contributing to the long-term development and sustainability of MacEwan.
Procurement & Contract Services
For Procurement & Contract Services (PACS), it’s about relationships. Their mission is to purchase goods and services for the university. The department facilitates the procurement process by competition, negotiation, consolidation of requirements and management of the contracting process. PACS provides services to external customers, vendors and suppliers by establishing supplier relationships that achieve optimum leveraging and vendor performance and consider total cost of ownership objectives.
Office of Sustainability
Sustainability means more to MacEwan than recycling. The Office of Sustainability manages human and ecological systems in accordance with MacEwan‘s responsibility to conserve and restore the environment while advancing social equity. The office oversees the sustainability strategy to achieve the long term vision for an environmental, economical, and equitable future. Working alongside the Sustainability Advisory Committee and stakeholders, the office provides guidance, fosters awareness, monitors progress, and promotes partnerships relating to campus wide sustainability priorities and initiatives.
Facilities
We’re proud of our campuses and think it’s one of the many great reasons to choose MacEwan. The Facilities team is one of Grant MacEwan University’s largest service departments. Facilities designs, maintains and operates our campuses and grounds that are secure, clean, functional, sustainable and inspiring.
Human Resource Services
Human Resources (HR) is about people. The HR department provides expert services to management and staff in workforce planning, recruitment, orientation, performance management, professional development, labor relations, workforce legislation, compensation and classification, benefits, disability management, payroll and occupational health and safety.
Retail & Campus Services
Experience. Success. Together. The Retail & Campus Services team maintains its values of customer focus, collaboration, communication, and innovation to provide products and services that contribute to the student experience. Retail and Campus Services contribute to the general revenues of the university through the operation of MacEwan Bookstores and Convenience Stores, Hospitality Services, Print and Mailroom Services and Parking Services. When you shop, eat, park or send mail with R&CS, you give back to MacEwan.
