Why it was created

In 2010 a focus group of nursing leaders from MacEwan University, Alberta Health Services and CARNA, met to discuss the current practice challenges facing nurses.

These discussions resulted in the successful development of the first Symposium held in January 2011.

Welcome to the 4th Annual Every Nurse Symposium
Every Nurse Creating the Future

The Centre for Professional Nursing Education at MacEwan University is looking forward to hosting this innovative and dynamic symposium.

In 2011 we challenged nurses to look at every nurse as a leader and the skills, knowledge and competencies they needed to be those leaders. In 2012 registrants attended sessions encouraging every nurse to engage in tomorrow, whether professionally or personally. In 2013 we focused on the active role every nurse can take in shaping health care. In 2014 we are looking at continued challenges and nurses leading, directing, educating and practicing in the future.

Nurses are currently and will continue to be challenged to take action personally, professionally, individually and together. These symposium sessions will support nurses with information, opportunities and practical tools to develop skills in the domains of clinical practice, education, administration, and policy.

All nurses and students are welcome.

We look forward to seeing you at MacEwan University’s City Centre Campus in the Robbins Health Learning Centre for a day of learning and networking!
