Global Awareness Week 2012

This annual event is presented to raise awareness of global issues ranging from human rights, gender equality and poverty eradication to peace and international security.
The goal of the event is to help MacEwan's students, faculty and staff become active, more informed, and better global citizens.
All-day, drop-in events
- Globally-themed displays at all campus libraries
- International Dining: City Centre Campus Cafeteria, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 31: Greek
- Wednesday, February 1: Mexican
- Thursday, February 2: Ukrainian
- Friday, February 3: Jamaican
- Cultural/heritage puzzle piece decorating program in Student Residence: Monday (7 - 9 p.m.) Tuesday (5 - 7 p.m.), Wednesday (7 - 9 p.m.)
- Community agency booths: City Centre Campus foyer - Tuesday, January 31 and Thursday, February 2
- Photo exhibits: all day, Monday through Friday
- Verge Magazine 'Travel With Purpose' Exhibition - South Campus library, open to public, library hours
- WaterCan – Water for Life: An African Photo Exhibit - City Centre Campus library, open to public, library hours
- Dr. Larry Louie: Optometrist and Documentary Photographer - City Centre Campus library, open to public, library hours
- Exchange Students Photo Exhibit - MacEwan International, in front of Room 7-105, City Centre Campus, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- South Campus activities: Tuesday, January 31 (throughout the day)
- Inter-continental food tasting - free for students - 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Student Lounge, South Campus
- “Know your name in different languages” – have your name written in different languages - 10:30 a.m., Student Lounge, South Campus
- Dance performances – including Bhangra club and belly dancing - 11:00 a.m., Student Lounge, South Campus
- “We get around” – a photo competition from around the world - All Day, Main Floor, South Campus
