Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China Speaks at MacEwan University


MacEwan UMme Yongfengniversity School of Business was pleased to host Mme. Liu Yongfeng Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China with offices in Calgary. Her district covers Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories – home to the strongest economies in Canada. The Consul-General’s office works to protect the rights and interests of Chinese citizens in respect to business, and provides a range of consular services including education/cultural exchange, visa, and travel documentation.

Mme. Yongfeng spoke as part of the university’s Global Awareness Week activities. This annual week-long series of events featured a variety of keynote speakers, displays, international dining and community agency booths. Mme. Yongfeng was a definite highlight of the week, speaking on, “China/Canada Cooperation: Economy, Energy and Education”. Mme. Yongfeng talked about the relative youth and incredible growth of the current China, and the move to alternative energy research.
