This workshop provides an introduction to the issues that affect ESL learners, grades K-12. This course will familiarize students with some of the topics related to the process of learning a second language such as immigration, culture, and culture shock. Also included are strategies for enhancing language skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, while promoting awareness of the ESL learners’ needs.
Working with ESL Learners Module II

This workshop builds on the course work of Module I by providing practical classroom activities and strategies in working with individuals whose first language is not English. This course familiarizes students with available resources and materials. Students will be given the opportunity to adapt learning activities and materials which are useful to the learner. Prerequisite(s): ESLG 0047
