Kule Chair of Ukrainian Community and International Development (UCID)
Thanks to donations from Peter and Doris Kule, MacEwan created a $1.5 million endowed the Kule Chair of Ukrainian Community and International Development at the Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre in 2002. In 2006 with unequalled generosity, Drs. Kule donated an additional $500,000 which increased the Chair endowment to over $3 million, the largest at Grant MacEwan University.
The Kule Chair seeks to:
- develop and support quality research;
- encourage collaborations across disciplines and among regional, national and international partners;
- identify and utilize research and project funding opportunities in Canada and abroad;
- innovate and facilitate the translation of research findings into policy and practice;
- work with post-secondary, government, private institutions and voluntary community organizations to fund and execute applied projects;
- provide information services to interested individuals and organizations.
The Kule Chair of Ukrainian Community and International Development advances Ukrainian community and international development studies within MacEwan and links the university with external partners in Canada and abroad.
