Transferability

You may transfer a maximum of 60 credits from other post-secondary institutions to the Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta. Some major and minor specializations require transfer before 60 credits have been completed at MacEwan; you should consult the planning information for the route you intend to complete.

If you have completed fewer than 24 credits, please see the U of A's Admissions website for admission criteria.

How to Apply to the U of A

The Bachelor of Arts program offers "How to Apply to the U of A" sessions in January with information on application, current admission requirements and backup plans. All Bachelor of Education students applying to the University of Alberta in the same year should attend.

Transferring Courses

To review how your MacEwan credits transfer to other post-secondary institutions in Alberta, please visit the online Alberta Transfer Guide. To determine transferability to out-of-province institutions, you must apply to your chosen institution and have them assess your transcript on an individual basis.

To transfer a course to U of A you must achieve a minimum grade of C-. Students transferring to U of A may not repeat a course in which they have previously received a grade of C-.
