Institute Events
One of the current questions in management education is whether management research has much influence on management practice. The Institute aims to create context and environment that leads to professional networking and bridges the divide between the academic and business world. To achieve this objective, a series of short events will be initiated on topical issues by bringing business executives and distinguished academics together. The underlying theme for the series will be evidence based management.
“Evidence-based management is the conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of the best available evidence in making decisions about the management of individual organisations. The practice of evidence based management means the integration of research evidence with individual managerial expertise in the context of organization characteristics, culture and preferences.”
Event Topics
These events create opportunities for people involved to interact with one another on different themes, and also to enable bridge-building between our school and business partners. Events are to be organized that bring together members of the business community and faculty to explore topical issues which may include:
- Evidence based management
- Supply chain management
- Leading projects
- International business
- Islamic finance
