After successfully completing the first year of the Bachelor of Music degree, you will choose one of three major routes of study: General, Performance, or Composition.
The B.Mus. General major route offers you flexibility in program choice to realize your personal study interests with diverse music-educational and professional goals.
This major includes:
- Applied instrument studies
- Ensemble courses
- Performance ensemble participation
In addition to core studies in jazz and contemporary music, you have the opportunity to pursue one of two unique minors, that offer innovative programming in:
- Music technology and production
- Music career management
A third option for the General route allows you to choose from both music technology production and music career management without obtaining a declared minor, but offers you an opportunity to create a unique program of study.
The General route also allows you to choose from other music option areas, including songwriting and performance ensemble.
