The Design & Illustration major is all about communicating on the printed page. We don’t have to look long or far to see how many messages reach us on paper. Publications, advertising, corporate identities and illustrations all require not only clarity of communication, but they also need to stand out. Print designers balance the use of text, image and format to engage their audience.

There are as many career opportunities in print design as there are ways to communicate on a page. We are constantly exposed to printed messages. The words, how they look, which images they are used with and what they are printed on give graphic designers the opportunity and the ability to have their messages stand out. Illustrations, publications, posters, flyers, symbols, signs and logos impact and influence our daily decisions.
The Illustration major pushes students to create meaningful and memorable messages on the printed page.
