It's always a good idea to apply early. You'll have your admission decision sooner and, if there are problems, questions or additional steps to complete with your application, you'll have the time you need.

Application deadlines for programs at MacEwan University are based on when you want to start your studies (the intake term). Check the deadlines below to learn when you can start and the last possible date to apply. If you apply after a deadline has passed, your application fee is not refunded.

Fall intake (September)

Submit your portfolio after you have officially applied to the program. Your portfolio can be mailed or delivered in person to the Design Studies office.

Portfolio pick up dates February 6–8 for January submissions; April 19–21 for April submissions (weekdays only)

* You can submit your portfolio during either of the drop-off date ranges; however, we recommend submitting your portfolio on the earlier date so you will have the opportunity to resubmit your portfolio on the later date if it is not accepted in the initial review.

Applicants who miss the portfolio deadline of April 10, 2017, can submit their portfolio until August 15 but may be placed on a waitlist. The late portfolio deadline for 2017/18 intake to Design Studies is August 15, 2017. Portfolios will not be accepted after this date.
