All students new to our service and returning clients who have not accessed our service in the past six months are invited to attend an Initial Consultation (IC) with a counsellor.
An Initial Consultation (IC) is a is a free and confidential 20 to 30 minute conversation where you will meet with a counsellor to explore your reasons for seeking help. From there you and the counsellor can discuss the best course of action for you: determine whether Wellness and Psychological Services is a good match for your needs, provide you with helpful resources specific to your concern, follow up appointments when appropriate, information about treatment and therapy options if the service doesn’t meet your needs or appointment times are fully booked.
ICs are available via weekday drop-in periods on a first-come, first-served basis at City Centre Campus and by appointment at the Alberta College Campus.
