Educational/Admissions Advisors are found in MacEwan’s Student Resource Centre (SRC).

SRC Advisors can help you answer questions like

  • How and when do I apply to my program?
  • How do I get into my program?
  • I got into my program, what next?
  • Will I get transfer credit?
  • I didn’t get into my program, what do I do now?
  • I was required to withdraw – how do I get back into my program?
  • I’m not sure what program to apply to…
  • What kind of career can I get into with the program I’m interested in?
  • I’m interested in being a ____; what program should I apply to?
  • How can I finance my education?

SRC Advising Philosophy

The SRC Advisors collaborate with and empower learners to make responsible and informed decisions about their educational plans and professional/life goals that are consistent with their values, interests and abilities.

You can expect your SRC advisor to

  • educate you about post-secondary and MacEwan-specific processes, procedures, policies and culture
  • keep up-to-date with and effectively communicate current admission and financial aid information
  • provide a supportive environment and listen carefully to your thoughts, questions and concerns
  • have knowledge of the career planning process
  • ask relevant questions related to your goals
  • assist you in the decision-making process and present options
  • provide resources and referrals when necessary
  • respect you as an individual and maintain confidentiality
  • maintain a positive attitude and encourage you to pursue your goals
  • use ethical and unbiased advising practices.
