What is Get to Work Career Week?
Get to Work Career Week is a series of events open to all MacEwan students and alumni. These events include:
+ Rapid Resume Reviews: Bring your resume to get personalized feedback right on the spot from a career advisor or potential employer
+ Speaker Panels: Learn about the different career and educational paths through the stories of successful professionals and students or graduates of professional education programs and graduate degrees.
+ Career Fairs: Meet potential employers, connect with professional organizations and explore further education opportunities
When is Get to Work Career Week?
The majority of the events will take place during the week of October 17 to October 21. However, some rapid resume review sessions will take place the week before. Check the schedule page for more details.
Why should I attend Get to Work Career Week?
- Get information, be inspired and gain some useful connections!
- Collect a stamp for each event that you attend. Three stamps or more will give you a chance to enter for some amazing prizes!
Speaker Panels
Learn more about the types of jobs, career and education pathways available in your areas of interest through the stories of 4-6 successful professionals, students and graduates of graduate degrees and professional education programs. Each speaker will share their career and education journey and offer advice on career planning, job search and pursuing further education. You will also have a chance to ask specific questions and connect with the speakers in-person.

How do I attend Get to Work?
Get to Work is open to all MacEwan students and alumni (NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED).
Before the event:
- Check the list of registered exhibitors
- Visit websites of organizations you're interested in
- Update your resume and bring them to Rapid Resume Reviews sessions (dates listed below)
- Prepare any questions you may have. You can ask questions about career or training opportunities, desirable qualities or experience for certain career paths, hiring practices and the application process, the organization's culture and community involvement, industry trends and issues, etc.
On the day of the event:
- Dress to impress and bring copies of your resume
- Don't just grab a brochure or freebies from the tables and walk away! Engage in conversation with the representatives at the booth and learn about their organizations.
