Receiving Your Money

A Funding Assessment Decision letter will be mailed to you from Alberta Employment & Immigration once your application has been processed. The letter will outline how much money you have been awarded and when you can expect to receive your monthly benefit.

Living expense money

Direct Deposit is the preferred method of payment.  If approved for funding, your monthly benefits will be deposited directly into your banking account two banking days before the first of each month. If you do not supply correct banking information, your funding will be mailed to your home address.

Books and supplies money

Money for your book expenses/supplies will also be deposited directly into your bank account at the beginning of each term unless your banking information is not accurate.

Tuition payments

If you are approved for funding, your tuition fees will be paid directly to MacEwan from Alberta Employment & Immigration at the start of each term..

Appealing your funding assessment decision

If you need to appeal your Funding Assessment Decision, you need to complete a Change of Circumstances form which is available for download on this page or you can pick one up at the Student Resource Centre/Information Centre at your campus. You are required to submit supporting documents to support your appeal. If you need help with an appeal or would like more information, contact your Case Manager.
