Your fall fees are due and payable no later than September 5, 2012.
Winter 2012 fees are due and payable no later than January 3 2013.
Remember, if you make changes to your course schedule after you have paid your fees, your account balance may change. A monthly finance charge of current prime plus one percent is levied on outstanding accounts. Students with an outstanding fees will be prevented from all add/drop/registration activity.

Benefits – Health and/or Dental
All full-time students with a minimum of nine credits are automatically enrolled in the Mandatory Student Health and Dental Plan. This is not the same as Alberta Health Care premiums. Additional coverage for spouse/dependents can be obtained by paying an additional fee. You may opt out of coverage with proof of similar insurance. (Fee approved by MacEwan students referendum in 1997)
Global Education Fee
The Global Education Fund goes toward providing funds to overseas educational projects for underprivileged schools and students. Full-time students pay $3.50 per term for Fall and Winter terms only. (Fee approved by MacEwan students referend
um in 2002/03)
Materials/Special Fees
These fees cover the costs of materials such as photocopied texts/ selections or lab materials. Visit the material fees section for a listing and explanation of material and special fees.
MacEwan photo ID card
All students taking credit courses at MacEwan are required to have a photo ID. This is required to use the Library, fitness facilities, write exams and use the U-Pass. Get your card at any campus library.
Membership Fees
These fees are collected by MacEwan on behalf of the Students’ Association (SA) under the authority of Section 93 of the Post Secondary Learning Act of Alberta.
Any student enrolled in four to eight credits for the Fall/Winter term and Spring/Summer term and paying partial membership fees may choose to be assessed the remainder of the Students’ Association membership fee. This will give the student full membership in the Students’ Association and access to selected SA services.
Note: Distance students do not pay the student membership fee, or health and dental benefits fees. Therefore, they are not members of the Students’ Association or the student health plan. The U-Pass is not available to students in distance programs.
Registrarial Fee
This fee covers your Application to Graduate, Parchment Replacement, Confirmation Letters and cost of Transcripts.
Sport and Wellness Fee
These fees provide students with a membership to MacEwan Sport and Wellness and support Health Services (students have access to a medical clinic on-campus), Campus Recreation and Athletics. Student Success Bursary fee
The Student Success Bursary Fee provides funds to the MacEwan Foundation. These funds are matched by the Province of Alberta and a private donor and used to fund bursaries at MacEwan. Full-time students pay $4.50 per term for Fall and Winter terms. This fee is set to expire in 2016. (Fee approved by MacEwan students referendum in 2010)
Information Technology Fee
This fee is collected to fund student-related technological projects, such as the student portal (myMacEwan.ca). All credit students will be assessed $2 per credit per term (to a maximum of $30 per term). eCampusAlberta courses are exempt from this fee as there is a separate technology fee assessed for eCampusAlberta courses.
U-Pass
The U-Pass gives all full-time MacEwan students unlimited use of regular ETS, St. Albert and Strathcona bus and LRT service from September to April. Full-time (9 credits or more) students pay $125 per term in 2011/2012. (Fee approved by MacEwan students referendum in 2010) If you have questions concerning your SA membership fees.
