MacEwan Diversity Project
The MacEwan Diversity Project aims to bring visibility and resources to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirited, queer, questioning, (LGBTTQ) and allied communities. With a growing LGBTTQ student body at Grant MacEwan University we strive to educate MacEwan students, staff, and faculty about the community.
This website has been designed to provide access to information and resources at MacEwan as well as within the larger LGBTTQ and allied communities.
Sticker Campaign
The MacEwan Diversity Project sticker campaign invites MacEwan and Students’ Association employees to show their support of the LGBTTQ community on campus. Those displaying a sticker are committed to offering support, providing information, and directing individuals to other resources.

Message from the Vice President, Student Services
MacEwan has a strong history of recognizing and appreciating the importance of a diverse learning community - for our learners, our faculty, our staff and the greater community that we serve.
As articulated in our mission statement, we "strive to exemplify the value of respect" (MacEwan University Mission Statement) and our values document speaks to the importance of diversity and individuality by "promoting acceptance of individual and cultural differences ." (MacEwan University Values Statement) The university is dedicated to creating an institutional culture of mutual respect among all individuals and groups, and taking direction from these foundational documents, the work of our Diversity Project serves to educate, support and celebrate the LGBTTQ community who are our students, faculty and staff. We are very pleased that this fledgling organization has taken a leadership role in the university by raising awareness and providing a voice for our LGBTTQ community.
Cathryn Heslep,
Vice President, Student Services
