Classroom Accomodations

Depending on the assessment of your disability-related educational needs, Services to Students with Disabilities (SSD) may recommend that you have accommodations in the classroom including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Peer note taker to record notes on non-carbonized note-taking paper that makes two copies
  • Permission to record lectures
  • Use of a note taking device (e.g., laptop)
  • Use of an assistive listening device to amplify volume of speaker's voice
  • Sign language interpretation
  • Communication Real-time translation services (CART) reporting
  • Preferential seating
  • Access to copies of power point slides in advance
  • Access to alternate formats of handout materials
  • Educational assistant to facilitate access to technology, visually presented materials or social coaching
