In 1990, the Students' Association implemented the Adopt-A-Family program to support students in financial need by providing them with bursaries. Our hope is that these students have a more enjoyable holiday season.
This program is supported through fundraising efforts as well as donations from individual staff and faculty members, university departments, students, alumni, and Faculty and Staff Associations. Students are referred to this program by the Student Resource Centre staff, the Peer Support program, and university faculty and staff.
On average, the Adopt-A-Family program assists over 40 families a year. Over the past two decades, this program has grown to serve more and more families--with each donation making a major impact in the lives of the recipients.
