Writing and Learning Services

The purpose of Writing and Learning Services is to assist MacEwan University students, by appointment only, as they develop and maintain effective writing and learning skills. At Writing and Learning Services, you can improve a variety of skills:

  • avoiding plagiarism
  • citing and documenting information
  • writing skills
  • learning and test taking

Writing and learning consultants are generally available Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

eTutor Alberta 

In addition, MacEwan University is a partner in eTutor Alberta, a consortium of post-secondary institutions in Alberta that have joined together to provide online asynchronous tutoring support to their students. At this time, MacEwan University students have ongoing access to online professional tutoring services in writing support, including quick questions about writing and citing.

As a MacEwan University learner, if you submit a paper for tutoring assistance, a tutor from any of the nine participating institutions may assist you. Tutors endeavour to respond within 48 hours, though response times may be longer during periods of high student usage.

Please note: The eTutor Alberta system is currently experiencing high student volumes. Turnaround times may be higher than normal. Please plan accordingly.

eTutor Alberta runs from September 2, 2014 until December 12, 2014.
