The Department of Physical Education strives to equip students with essential knowledge and skills needed to function effectively in the information age in which we live. The focus is on helping individuals develop human, technical, and conceptual expertise required to take advantage of the various professional opportunities available in today's job market.

The Bachelor of Physical Education transfer program provides numerous options for degree completion at the University of Alberta. In addition to the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE), MacEwan also offers introductory course work that can be used toward the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (BSc Kin), the Bachelor of Arts in Recreation, Sports and Tourism (BARST) or the combined Bachelor of Physical Education/Education (BPE/Ed) degrees.
