What are the goals of URDC?
|
The Ukrainian Research and Development Centre was established to:
- provide interdisciplinary education and training services for the promotion of Ukrainian culture using state-of-the-art education techniques.
- research and produce quality, popular, bilingual training materials and audio-visual resources for Ukrainian culture and languages development.
- provide, through the services of trained community animators, board communications, consulting, marketing, translation and applied research services for groups fostering Ukrainian Canadian culture.
- link Grant MacEwan University with the Ukrainian Canadian community particularly with regard to major provincial, national and international projects.
- provide an archival and library resource centre for the general public and for government departments to access Ukraine Canadian cilture, artists and community organizations.
- provide artist-in-residence programs for creative work to be commissioned and completed.
- promote public fundraising for the development of Ukrainian Canadian culture.
- offer credit and non-credit courses by Centre staff and through joint appointments between the centre and other existing University programs.
