Transferability
If you have already completed the first year of an early childhood program at another college, you’re welcome to apply directly to second year. Your transcript will be evaluated for advanced standing. You must have a minimum mark of C to get advanced standing for courses taken elsewhere. You must also complete a one-week placement in MacEwan’s day care centre and will be expected to demonstrate competency and knowledge equal to that of our first-year students. Your second-year program will be planned on the basis of your first year. Space may be limited by budget.
Graduates with the ECD Diploma may apply to the following university programs and receive transfer credit.

(Early Childhood Specialization) - B.Sc. Family Studies/Human Ecology
- B.Ed. Adult Education
(for those teaching in colleges)
University of Victoria- B.A. Child and Youth Care

University of Manitoba- Bachelor of Human Ecology
(Family Studies major, Child Studies minor)
University of Regina- B.Ed. Elementary Education
