MacEwan psychology instructor and dream researcher Jayne Gackenbach has become part of a viral marketing sensation around Inception – a heist thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The film is based on the concept of the deliberate manipulation of dreams and the subconscious.

Gackenbach is one of the dream researchers who appears in a documentary feature created as a companion piece to Inception. The documentary, directed by Oscar nominee Roko Belic, explores some of the current research on dreams – including Gackenbach’s own work on lucid dreaming. The documentary also features interviews with Inception director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins) and DiCaprio, who discuss the role of dreams in their creative processes.
