Paul Saturley, MacEwan photography instructor for over two decades, is set to debut a collection of new work this month. The show, entitled A Picture's Worth a Thousand Bucks, is a culmination of photographs from the last 18 months. Saturley explains, "The somewhat irreverent title of the 2010 show is intended to reflect on the positioning of photography in the modern era. The medium is everywhere. Still, there are pictures that appear to stand out from the thousands of images made every minute." The exhibit is a collection of conceptual portrait and landscape work. The pictures are an exploration of photography and image making. Much of it is highly personal. Saturley is an accomplished and respected photographer working in studio portrait, conceptual landscape and digital illustration. His work in digital image processing is well known locally. He is published in Canada and Europe, runs workshops in imaging, and exhibits regularly.
