Vision of MacEwan Human Resources

Human Resources understands that MacEwan is a community of Faculty and Staff, working together to foster student success and student contribution. We understand that it is through the individual and collaborative efforts of Faculty and Staff that the Vision and Mission of Grant MacEwan University will be fulfilled and through our individual and collective actions that the Values of MacEwan are exemplified.

Human Resources, working in partnership with stakeholders throughout the University, is integral to the fulfillment of the University's Vision, Mission and Values; supporting the overall student learning experience through the purposeful application of best workplace practices to offer a workplace that is challenging, diverse and fulfilling.

Human Resources Team members are committed to fostering a healthy work culture and environment that: attracts and engages excellent Faculty and Staff, respects and integrates their diverse contributions, nurtures accountability and fairness, develops capacity to pursue excellence, and proactively addresses safety, wellness and other work-related needs; while helping to prepare MacEwan and members of the MacEwan community for the challenges of tomorrow. 

Mission of MacEwan Human Resources

Human Resources provides leadership in the development and delivery of a range of strategic, consultative and operational services which support the University community in responding to current needs and realities while anticipating and preparing for the future.

Working in partnership with Stakeholders, Human Resources will be known for providing value-added services and advice which advance the achievement of MacEwan Goals, while supporting Managers, Faculty and Staff. We measure our results to progressively enhance the value of our services, which include:

  • Attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding Faculty and Staff who are committed to achieving excellence and who are engaged to achieve the Vision, Mission and Values of MacEwan.
  • Facilitating and supporting an organizational culture and work environment that advances the achievement of the MacEwan Vision and Mission while exemplifying the MacEwan Values.
  • Advancing working conditions in a manner that is sustainable for the University, effectively balancing needs and resources
  • Promoting a safe and healthy workplace, striving for the elimination of workplace related illnesses and injuries.
  • Developing and delivering support systems, technology and infrastructure: to facilitate service responsiveness, to enhance information access and sharing, to support decision making and to strengthen planning.
  • Building and nurturing productive relationships internally and externally with Stakeholders who impact the MacEwan workplace and work culture
  • Developing organizational capacity to position MacEwan for the future.
