Library Technician II-Centre for the Arts and Communication
The Library located at the Centre for the Arts and Communications Campus (10045-156 Street) is seeking a Library Technician. The incumbent will provide reference and all borrower services functions including circulation, photo ID and cash. Project work and the deletions and editing of records at the holdings level is also part of the responsibilities of this positions. At peak times, back up support for the circulation of audiovisual equipment and basic technology support may also be required. Candidates require a two-year library technician diploma from an accredited institution. A minimum of one year experience as a library technician in a reference or public services area is desirable. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential along with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively as a team member. This is an 8 month term, 35 hours per week position commencing on August 31 with an end date of April 30, 2010. The successful candidate must be able to work evenings and some weekends.
