The Accounting programs at South Campus invite applications for a University Advisor. This is a full-time continuing position in the MacEwan School of Business. Employer relations and student placement services is an integral part of this University Advisor role. The University Advisor is the first line of contact to current and potential employers, assesses employers' needs with the various work placements the program has to offer, maintains a current employer manual, manages the job competition process, and other related duties. Program advising responsibilities include reviewing students' application records to proactively support admission to the program, advising students both individually and in large groups, developing students' academic and graduation plans, interpreting university policies and procedures as they relate to students, and working collaboratively with other advisors. Duties also include student recruiting, student registration assistance, course scheduling, advising materials development, career search support, and other administrative duties. Applicants will possess a Bachelor's Degree, or combination of a post-secondary related diploma plus related experience in the program field. Two years related experience in advising or administration is required, with post-secondary experience considered an asset. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Candidates must possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be attentive to detail, be flexible and have the ability to present to large groups. Technical skills will include MS Office at a minimum and experience with scheduling or database systems will be an asset.
