Our advisors can help you with feedback on your resumé, interview preparation or guidance on choosing your next step. Nearly half of our appointments are booked by first- and second-year students, showing that career planning can begin at any point in your degree.

When should I meet with Career Services?

Anytime! You don’t need to wait until you’re looking for a job or preparing to graduate. Many students meet with Career Services early in their studies to explore their career options, build professional skills and prepare for future opportunities.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment through the Career Services platform. From there, you can choose topics to discuss when you meet with an advisor in person or virtually.

What's the difference between a drop-in and a booked appointment?

Drop-in sessions are designed for quick feedback on resumés, cover letters or LinkedIn profiles. For in-depth support such as career planning, interview preparation and job search strategies, book a one-on-one appointment with an advisor.

How many appointments can I book?

Current students can book an unlimited number of appointments throughout their studies. Alumni can access up to 10 appointments. As alumni, you still have unlimited access to our career resources and the job board.

How much does it cost to get help from Career Services?

Career Services appointments and resources are free for all current MacEwan students and for alumni.

Will Career Services write my resumé or cover letter for me?
No. Our advisors provide feedback, guidance and recommendations, but you are responsible for creating your own application materials. Our goal is to help you develop the skills and confidence to communicate your experience effectively.
I’m a MacEwan alumni. Can I still get support from Career Services?

Yes. Graduates of MacEwan’s degree, diploma and certificate programs can continue to access Career Services support, resources and job opportunities after graduation.

How do I find job and volunteer opportunities?

You can find part-time, full-time, seasonal and volunteer opportunities on our job board by logging into the Career Services platform. Or you can check out the work-experience opportunities page.

No. Recruitment for MacEwan positions is managed by Human Resources. Career Services helps students and alumni develop the skills, tools and strategies needed to pursue employment opportunities and plan their next steps.
