OFFICE of TEACHING & LEARNING SERVICES

Teaching

Engaged students, high-impact teaching practices, innovative course design—at MacEwan, we prioritize excellence in education. Just as we provide our students with world-class education, we seek out new learning opportunities for ourselves.

The Office of Teaching and Learning Services connects faculty with resources, training and encouragement to reflect upon and evolve our teaching practices.

Support for Teaching During a Pandemic

Even though our physical office is closed, we’re still here to support you as you make necessary changes to instruction. You can always contact us at teaching@macewan.ca and one of us will get back to you as quickly as we can. We’re also holding online office hours regularly.

We’re maintaining a list of teaching-related resources and information. This document includes contributions from our office, eLearning, Academic Integrity, and various student services units. Please check that document for best practices and advice associated with most aspects of your teaching. (Note: This document is the one originally circulated by the Provost in a mid-March email.)

If you’d like to take a workshop, you can still do that from the safety of your home office. On the left side of this page, you can click on our workshops/courses button to see what’s available. If you’re unable to attend the workshop synchronously, then you can access a recording later on our Kaltura video channel (MacEwan login required).

If you’re thinking ahead about converting your current face-to-face course into a format for online delivery, then you should start with this online module:

I know how beautiful and rewarding it is to find your passion in life, and I want to help my students find that same feeling.
