There is an increasing demand for health care professionals with the knowledge and expertise required to work in a practice setting with patients who have complex wounds resulting from a variety of disease pathologies and factors.
While the program focuses on the management of all complex wounds, particular attention is paid to populations that are at greater risk of developing wounds. As well, prevention of the exacerbation of wounds is covered. This is part of a standardized approach to wound management involving all members of an interdisciplinary wound management team.
