Opportunity

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications (FFAC) of MacEwan University is recruiting for a full-time continuing position of Administrative Assistant III. The Administrative Assistant will provide general administrative support for Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications (FFAC) faculty and staff: program support for the Fine Art and Design programs; word processing; minute-taking; reception and related support; and maintenance of files in accordance with the University’s file management and retention policies.

Skills

The successful candidate will be proficient in all general office duties. Proficiency is required in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google docs; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset. The ability to master PeopleSoft at the intermediate level is required. This position also requires above-average interpersonal, organization and problem-solving skills, above-average verbal and written communication skills, proof-reading skills; minute-taking skills; the ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands; flexibility and the ability to handle stress effectively.

Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of a diploma in an administrative field or related area, with formal administrative assistant coursework preferred (equivalencies may be considered) and 3 - 5 years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
